THE BEGINNINGS OF OUR COCONUT PALM NURSERY

Some of the mature coconuts we have collected have been planted out to begin our coconut palm nursery.

These coconut seedlings will be planted on the farm to create our Beacon Farms Coconut Palm Orchard and the coconuts we collect from this orchard will be processed to produce our organic, virgin coconut oil and flour.
​
We hope to eventually have an orchard with at least 1,000 coconut palms!
COCONUT PALM GROVE

The little coconut seedlings are big enough to be planted out on the farm. They have an irrigation system supplying them with well water and will be fertilized regularly to maximize their growth.
In 5 to 6 years we will have a productive orchard with at least 1,000 coconut trees providing all the mature brown coconuts we need!

Our coconut palm orchard continues to grow!

As we get more land cleared and extend our irrigation system, we continue to transplant the coconut seedlings we sprouted in our coconut seedling nursery.
​
The trees that are already in the ground are growing well and the oldest seedlings have now been in the field for about 6 months.
​
To maximize our productivity, short term crops will be planted in between the coconut seedlings since they are still small enough to not shade out other plants.
​
As they get taller we may put shade loving bushes in-between them.
