In December 2020, Beacon Farms received the first load of shredded paper from Cay-Shred Mobile Data Destruction.  The load delivered weighed roughly 6,000 lbs - that is 6,000 lbs. less waste dumped at the George Town landfill!

Beacon farms will incorporate this shredded paper with our other compost inputs, such as green waste from landscapers, brown waste in the form of wood chips and create a nutrient rich compost product.

Cay-Shred will be delivering similarly sized load each week.  This situation benefits everyone involved as we are reducing the volume of waste going to the dump by recycling a waste product and turning it into a valuable growing medium that will in turn make Beacon Farms' soil more productive.
